1. Meditating has not been on the top of my list this week. I haven't been feeling pretty depressed and have been having trouble focusing. I guess this is when I need to do it the most. When I did the exercise the day before yesterday I felt better afterward, like a feeling of peace had come over. I felt God knock on my heart and say, "stay strong, you can do this". It was comforting because I was feeling really low. I slept better that night too which, is a challenge for me most nights. Along with track #4 which also helped greatly I have been having very tough time with my family my finances my sudo- boyfriend. The techniques do work its just calming me enough to do them I am flustered need more focus. I guess I just need to keep at it like life you get lemons make lemonade. I just get in these poor me syndrome moods which make it difficult, but that lets me know that is something I need to work on for me and only me. How can you help others if ya can’t help yourself right?
2. The way I see it is the saying means that you can't help someone with something unless you have gotten help for it yourself or you can't guide someone on a path that you haven't walked on yourself. It is like having a guide that doesn't know where they are going. It applies to the health and wellness professional because it is hard to treat a patient in areas that you don't have expertise or knowledge about. I think that the best health professionals are those that have experienced the suggestion for treatment themselves or with someone close to them. Not only does it make the professional more understanding but, they have personal insight about the treatment as well. I think it is very important for the health professional to be developing themselves also. It is difficult for a professional to be a great physician if they haven't grown in all areas of their life. Truly, life is a constant growing experience and we never know everything but, it is important to be working on you each day.
